One of the pioneers of Ford county who has resided near here for perhaps two score years was called from his earthly scenes on Wednesday morning, the immediate cause of death being lagrippe though he had been ailing some time.
Philip Eppelsheimer Sr., was born in Germany 77 years ago and with his family removed to this country. His wife's death occured nearly a year ago which event many will remember.
The deceased leaves six children as follows: George, Louis and Philip who live near here and Jacob of Chicago; and two daughters, Mrs. Platt (?) and a sister (whose name we could not learn) who live at Fairbury.
The funeral will be held today at the German Evangelical Lutheran church following which the remains will be laid to rest in the Roberts cemetery. The bereaved children and grandchildren have the sympathy of all.
