Robert Knilands

FATAL ACCIDENT

On Saturday last a fatal accident occurred near Roberts, which bereft a large family of its means of support and threw them on the charity of a cold world.  Robert Knilands was assisting the Parker brothers, who reside on the Prince Toby farm, in the erection of a hay derrick, when a stake pulled up and the derrick in falling struck him on the head, fracturing his skull and producing almost immediate death. He leaves a widow and five children in destitute circumstances. The good people of Roberts raised $100 for their relief, and extended to them all the aid in their power. A year ago last winter Mr. K. met with an accident while crossing the I. C. railroad which resulted in a dislocated hip and shoulder for himself, and the loss of one horse and his wagon. The winter before he lost a bright and promising son, who was accidentally shot while hunting.
