Hattie Houk

 

Hattie May Mosher was born Aug. 2d, 1860, at Elmwood, Peoria county, Illinois. In 1877, she removed, with her parents to Ford county, where she has since resided. In 1880 she was united in marriage to Jacob Houk. March 16th, after an illness of ten days from la grippe, she passed away at her home three miles north of Roberts. Three days before occurred the death of an infant daughter.
The funeral services were held at the Congregational church, Sunday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, and were conducted by Rev. Richardson, assisted by Rev. Bird. The text was from James iv, 14. the interment was in Roberts cemetery. Deceased leaves a husband and five children who deeply mourn her loss. Her mother and all of her brothers and sisters were with her to the last, with one exception -- a sister, who lives at Elmwood, arrived four hours too late, and was almost heart broken when she heard of her sister's death.
