Nellie Gleason

Mrs. Frank Gleason
The saddest duty that falls to the lot of the publisher of this paper is to chronicle the deaths of the community; and the saddest death to chronicle is that of a mother who leaves a family of small children to mourn that death.  The sudden taking of Mrs. Frank Gleason was such a one.  She had been ill but a very short time with influenza and the report of her death came as a shock to all.
Obituary
Nellie Alice White, daughter of James W. and Sarah (Campbell) White, was born in Roberts, Illinois, October 8th, 1888, and departed this life at her home near Roberts, Thursday, January 2, 1919, aged 30 years, 2 months and 25 days.
The deceased grew to womanhood here, was educated in the Roberts public schools, graduating from the high school in the class of 1904, after which she went to Anderson, Indiana, where she completed the course in 1906.  She then went to Chicago and took a special course in music, in which she was especially proficient.  She has always made her home here and was known and loved by all our people.
She was married to Frank Gleason, also a native of Roberts, Thursday, December 17, 1908. To this union were born four children, all of whom are living.  They are Chester, Rosalia, Nellie Francis, and Ruth.  She leaves to mourn her besides the husband and children, her mother, and one brother, Dr. Philip W. White, who is serving his country with the army in France; also a large number of other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral service was held at the home, Monday, December 6, 1919, Rev. Father McMullen officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, here.
