Wilson W. Campbell


Wilson W. Campbell was born May 12, 1857, in Indiana.  He came to Illinois at an early age and on Thursday, the fifth day of December 1878, he married Miss Fannie Matthews of McLean County, between Bellflower and Farmer City.  They lived for several years in McLean County and then moved to Sibley where they lived several years.  They then came to Roberts and made their home for a short time before moving to Luverne, Minnesota, living at Luverne two years they came back to Roberts which was their home until their deaths.  Mrs. Campbell died in 1921.  Later he married Mrs. Elizabeth Currie who survives him.
Mr. Campbell died May 26th, 1937, aged 80 years and 14 days.  He was a man who was held in esteem by the community.  He leaves besides his widow, two sons, Edward W. Campbell and Frank Hiram Campbell, both of Roberts.  He also leaves one grandson.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon, May 28th at two o'clock, Rev. H. M. Blout and Rev. J. H. Harper officiating.  Burial was in Lyman Cemetery.
