Mrs. Milton Dietterle
Dorris Ditman, daughter of John and Kate (Futsch) Ditman was born near Buckley, Illinois, January 14th, 1899, and departed this life at her home near Roberts, Illinois, Tuesday morning, May 25th, 1926, aged 27 years 4 months and 9 days. She was married to Milton Dietterle who survives her.
Mrs. Dietterle is remembered by those who knew her best as a kind wife and an excellent neighbor. She was beloved by all who knew her. She tried to live a true Christian life and during her last illness she had in bed with her a little book in which she wrote at intervals. No one knew what this book contained until after her death when they found neatly copied the Lord's prayer, two other prayers, the words of the song, "The Little Brown Church in the wildwood" and some other sacred writings.
She left to mourn her untimely death, her husband, two daughters, her father, two sisters, Mrs. Rhonas Hilgendorf of Buckely and Mrs. Theresa Grohler of Thawville, three brothers, Andrew Ditman of Loda, and Evard and Morton Ditman of Thawville, also her grandmother Mrs. Futsch of Buckley. Her mother died September 1, 1925. One sister Mrs. Edward Doyle died about eight years ago.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church in Roberts Thursday afternoon, May 27th, at two o'clock Rev. Charles Wunsch of Saunemin officiating. Burial at Lyman Cemetery.
