Mrs. Eli McNeil Dies at Roberts
Roberts , Ill., May 14 -- Mrs. Eli McNeil one of the beloved Christian ladies of the Roberts community, passed away this morning at her house, following an illness of the past several months. For the past two weeks her condition has been grave and her husband an her children and their families have been constantly with her. Besides the husband, she is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Arthur V. Smith of Salem, Ohio, and Mrs. Merton West of Chicago Heights, and one son Robert McNeil, who is employed in Chicago Heights.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. Eli McNeil, Roberts Pioneer, Passes Away
Roberts, Ill., May 15 -- Mrs. Eli McNeil passed away on Tuesday morning at 4:30 o'clock of cancer at her home in Roberts.
Mrs. McNeil was born in Schuyler Falls, Clinton county, N.Y. July 6,1860. Her parents were Amos and Lora Johnson Arnold. She came to Roberts when five years of age with her parents and had lived here since except of two years in South Dakota.
On March 18, 1885 she was united in marriage to Eli McNeil and to the union four children were born. Mrs. Carl Dillon who died several years ago; Mrs. Lora Smith of Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. Ellen West of Chicago Heights; and Robert McNeil at home.
Mrs. McNeil leaves three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Stevens of Heber Springs , Ark. and Mrs. Frank Linn of Roberts, and two brothers Johnson and Seward Arnold, of Roberts.
Mr. and Mrs. McNeil celebrated their golden wedding on March 18, 1935.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon.
