Martha C. Beeman

Mrs. Martha C. Beeman was born at Marysville, Ohio, March 10th 18?9. She joined the United Brethren church at the age of 17. She united with the M. E. church of Roberts in 1883, and remained a member till her death, Dec. 25th, 1893. She had been a sufferer with lung disease for several months. Her daughter, Mrs. Wilson, went to her home in Calhoun Co., Ill., to assist in her care. Mrs. Beeman, believing that she might recover if she could only come to Roberts, begged them to take her and after much entreating, Mrs. Wilson consented to take her home with her. She arrived home Dec. 22nd and was very low. It was too late for any earthly relief and she only lived a few days. She leaves a husband and 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls to mourn her loss. Five of the children were present when she died. A. W. Scott, her oldest son, residing in Minnesota, failed to get word and did not reach Roberts till after her death. The funeral services were held in the M. E. church Dec. 27th and her remains were interred in the Roberts cemetery.
