Abbie Jane Barber

Abbie Jane Barber, daughter of William and Mary (McGladery) Barber was born in Joliet, Illinois, August 26, 1866, and died at her home in Brooklyn, Iowa, March 6, 1939, aged 72 years, 6 months and 11 days. She had not been in very good health for some time but was not seriously ill until a short time before her death. For many years she and her family lived in Roberts, they having moved here from Joliet many years ago.
Thirty-one years ago (in 1908) she with her half brother and her brother (William McKnight and Edward B. Barber) moved from here to Brooklyn, Iowa, where they lived on a farm until this winter when they moved into town.
She leaves to mourn her death two brothers, Edward of Brooklyn and Fred of Roberts; also numerous other relatives and many friends. Three sisters and two brothers and her half brother William McKnight preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held in the First Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn and the remains were brought to Roberts for burial. Short services were held at the cemetery here, the Rev. J. H. Harper in charge. The pall bearers here were Ernest G. Wright, W. H. Yackee, C. W. Kennedy, Frank L. Mosher, Charles Knilands and Clifford Barber.
