Elizabeth Wilhelmina Harwood

Elizabeth Wilhelmina Ortlepp, daughter of John and Emma (Tornowski) Ortlepp, was born in Roberts, Illinois, September 27, 1884 and departed this life at her home at Crescent City, Illinois, Tuesday, October 22, 1918, aged 34 years and 25 days.
The deceased grew to womanhood in Roberts. She was christened in the Lutheran faith and was confirmed in that church at Melvin, April 8, 1900. She was educated in the Roberts public school and always lived here until her marriage.  She was married to Burton G. Harwood of Crescent City, May 10, 1913, since which time she has lived at Crescent City. She was a dutiful daughter, a kind and affectionate wife and mother and an accommodating neighbor; one who will be missed not only by the members of her family but by all who knew her.
She leaved to mourn her death her husband; two daughters, June and Arlene; her parents; and six sisters -- Mrs. Alma Frederking of Montana, Mrs. Hannah Kemena of Springfield, and Mary, Emma, Geraldine and Evelyn of Roberts. Also a number of other relatives and a host of friends who join the bereaved family in sorrow.
The funeral services were held at the home in Crescent City, Friday, October 25, 1918 at 9:30 a.m., Rev. Helmerich, pastor of the Lutheran Church at that place, officiating. The remains were then brought to Lyman Cemetery at Roberts for burial. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral services in Roberts were Mrs. Fred Kemena of Springfield, Mrs. Edward Meyers of Crescent City and Mrs. William Kietzman of Gilman.
