Charlotte Steinman

9 January 1910

Anna Mary Charlotte Winter, daughter of Fred and Mary Winter, was born at Stockhausen, Westphalia, Germany, Dec. 29, 1937. She was always a faithful worker in the Lutheran church. In 1862 she was married to Henry Steinmann. Four years later they came to America, to Lostant, Ill., where they remained two years settling in 1868 on a farm in Wall Town, south of Roberts, which was their home for 27 years. In 1895 they retired from farming, coming to Roberts, where their home has been since. She had been of exceptionally good health until the last year, during which time she has suffered from a complication of diseases which became more severe until death came to her relief Sunday morning, Jan. 9, at the age of 72 years. She was an industrious woman, a good wife and mother, a true neighbor and friend to the needy. In her church life she was an active worker. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, two sons, Henry and Frank, (both whom reside near here) five grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. F. Roempler and Mrs. C. Braband, both of Chicago, and a large circle of friends in and around Roberts who extend deepest sympathy to the bereaved. The funeral services were held at the Congregational church in Roberts, Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m., Reg. Geo. Zapf, pastor of the Lutheran church, officiating, Rev. G.H. Callihan assisting. The remains were laid to Lyman cemetery.
