Erma Frances Swanick

The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Swanick, aged 2 years, 2 months, and 11 days was drowned Sunday evening, June 16, 1918, in a water tank at her home north west of Roberts.
She was going from the house to the barn and probably stopped to play in the water and after climbing upon the tank became overbalanced and fell. Her father, who had not been gone more than ten minutes, was returning from the barn when he noticed her doll lying by the tank. He ran to the place but was too late to save the child.
Funeral services were held at the home today at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Kiese (?) of Melvin officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Lyman cemetery.
The entire community extends its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved parents.
