Mathilde Krallman

Mrs. Mathilde (Pflittner) Krallman was born in Hamburg, Germany, Wednesday, September 9,  1855, and died at the home of her son Lambert at Monticello, Indiana, Christmas day December 25, 1922, aged 67 years, 3 months and 16 days. She came to America in 1906, arriving at Roberts on the 19th day of September of that year. She lived here thirteen years and moved from here to Monticello three years ago where she has since lived with her son.
The deceased leaves to morn (sic) her death three sons, Lambert of Monticello, Indiana, Bernhard of Roberts and Alfred of Thawville, Illinois. She leaves eight grand-children and one great-grand-child besides numerous relatives and friends here who join the family in sorrow at her death. During the years that she lived in this vicinity she became known for industry, energy and neighborly kindness. Coming into a strange land at her age, then fifty-one, it was not easy to learn the language, the customs and ways of a strange people, but in many ways she proved her worth and is kindly remembered by the many here who know her best.
The funeral services were held at Monticello this morning after which the remains were brought to Roberts for burial. The services were held at the cemetery at two o'clock this afternoon with Rev. John T. Killip in charge.
