Sylvia Fern Mickens, daughter of William H. and Martha (Crolinger) Mickens was born at Danvers, Illinois, November 8th, 1904, and departed this life at her home in Roberts, Illinois, Saturday, September 6, 1930, aged 25 years 9 months and 28 days.
When a small child she came with her parents to Roberts which has been her home nearly all her life. She was educated in the Roberts Public Schools and has been connected with the social life of the community. She was quiet and unassuming in her manner and made many friends.
About a year ago her health failed and she has been an invalid, gradually growing weaker since that time.
The funeral service was held at the home Monday afternoon, September 8th, 1930, at two o'clock, Rev. C. A. Sullivan officiating. The burial was in Lyman cemetery.
